How engagements are shaped
Rates depend on scope and how much of my week the work takes, so I quote after the first call. Most work is one of two shapes: a new build, or joining something already under way.
- A new project
We start with a call to pin down what you need and why, and you get a ballpark on cost and timeline before anything is committed. Then it is continuous delivery — working software in short increments, updates you can watch land, and a documented handover so your team can run it without me.
A ballpark before you commit, then priced by scope.
- An existing project or team
I start by reviewing the codebase and how the team works, then join in — remotely, inside your own environment, tracker and review process. You get daily updates and hands-on delivery, and I mentor your engineers and advise on the decisions that are expensive to reverse.
Remote, in your stack — a day or two a week, or full-time for a stretch.
Not sure which of these you need? That is a reasonable thing to work out on a call.
